Welcome on the site of harmonica-player Jan Verwey. On this site, you can find my biography, my discography and you can listen to some tracks of my albums. My newest CD is "Jan Verwey plays Thelonious Monk". This album is released in September 2004, and you find 10 titles of Thelonious Monk himself, and one composition by Jan Verwey. You can order this CD on this site, or at www.bol.com. You can also download his cd's with iTunes. Check .
Canada 2007
In June this year the Jan Verwey trio has been playing on 2 jazz-festivals in Canada, together with pianist Jillian Lebeck and bass-player Paul Rushka, both from Canada. One concert in Calgary and one in Medicine Hat. Especially the concert in the Esplanada Theatre for 600 people was a great success. After the last tune the audience gave the trio a applause of 12 minutes and after the encore, the Miles Davis tune "Nardis", a stand-up ovation.
Re-Release of the album "You Must Believe In Spring"

His own radio-programm on Jazz-radio 6
Since April Jan is producing the jazz-programm "Holland Jazz" on Radio 6. His programm is bringing Dutch productions on CD and also a special guest in " CD of the Day". Jan talks with these musician about his(or her) new CD-album. Broadcasting live on every Sunday at 3 pm. Composing and presentation: Jan Verwey.
